Your current SEO, at a glance

What the last two monthly reports deliver, checked against your own Search Console, Analytics and Shopify.

The short version. Your organic search is a real channel and it is growing. But your store grew faster, so organic’s share of revenue slipped. The link building has nearly doubled the number of sites pointing at you without lifting your site’s authority, and almost none of those sites are Australian. The on-site blog writing is solid. What’s missing is a strategy behind it, any work on AI search, and visibility and ownership of what’s being built in your name.

The numbers that matter

~A$19K
Organic revenue in September, branded and non-branded together (GA4), up 60% on last September
+76%
Your whole store’s growth in the same month, so organic grew more slowly
15.8% → 13.9%
Organic’s share of revenue (branded and non-branded together), Jan to Sep 2026 against the same months last year
24 → 24
Your site authority score (DataForSEO, /100), January to September, while linking sites went from 112 to 213
12 of 174
Linking sites first seen since January that use an Australian (.au) address

Sources: GA4 property for montlaurent.com.au (revenue by channel), DataForSEO backlink history and live referring domains, pulled 23 Oct 2026. GA4 and Shopify credit organic search slightly differently (GA4 counts all organic search engines on its own attribution; your strategy uses Shopify’s Google Organic figure), so GA4 is used here for trends and shares. The September linking-site count (213) is DataForSEO’s monthly history; the strategy quotes today’s live count.

What you are sent each month

In the reportWhat it actually isWhat it does for you
2 premium blogs, written and postedTwo ~1,000-word articles on your own blogThe useful part. Well written, sensibly linked to your collections. Posts like “Are RFID Passport Holders Worth It?” are earning clicks
Unique content distributionArticles posted to free Medium, WordPress.com and Blogspot accounts in your brand’s nameVery little. Those free sub-blogs carry no authority of their own
Local business listings, citations, classified adsProfiles and ads on Australian business directories and bookmark sitesLow. Citations help a shopfront rank locally; you sell online. Two of August’s listing pages already return “page not found”
Press release and paid distributionOne release syndicated across hundreds of sitesLow. Mostly US-oriented and generic syndication sites, which Google treats as copies
Guest blogOne article for a third-party siteUnclear. No link to where it was published was included

What the reports say, and what your data says

The report saysYour own data says
Organic revenue up 60% (September)True, and worth celebrating. Your store grew 76% that month, so organic’s share of revenue fell
91% search visibility, up 29%A score from their own tracker on their own keyword list. Google shows your non-branded impressions up 5% on last September
101 keywords in the top 3Of those 101, Google puts 27 in the top 3 on average for Australian searches (Search Console, September). Most are on page one, which is a genuinely solid base
Blogs “posted in site” (September)Neither of September’s two blogs is on your site or saved as a draft in your Shopify (checked 23 Oct)

A rank tracker checks one location at one moment. Search Console averages every real search people did, which is why we use it as the judge. All figures pulled 23 Oct 2026.

What’s working

What’s missing

Worth doing this week, whatever you decide

  1. Take back the accounts made in your name. Some directory and blog accounts sit under a Gmail address set up for the campaign, with the agency’s address as the recovery email. Change that recovery email to your own and update the password. We’re happy to walk you through it in five minutes.
  2. Ask for the two September blogs and the guest post link, so you get what’s already been paid for.

How we’d do it differently. Everything gets built in your own Shopify, Search Console and Analytics, measured on the revenue it brings in, with AI search built in from day one, and after six months the whole system is yours to run. The detail is in The offer.
